Accounts Trainee
We are looking for a dynamic and driven Accounts Trainee to join our growing team. The practice offers a friendly and supportive environment, where teamwork is at the forefront of how we operate.
You will be given a wide range of accounting tasks to complete as you learn the accountancy role. You will be provided with assistance and support whilst gaining knowledge in the accountancy profession, alongside learning the AAT qualification.
Responsibilities will include:
- Accounting support for professional staff such as bookkeeping, data entry onto accounting software, spreadsheet production for accounts analysis and reconciliation work.
- Helping staff prepare client VAT Returns and year end accounts.
- Supporting the payroll department, offering help to analyse information pre-entry into the payroll software.
- Help with the firm’s own administration tasks.
- General reception duties, including welcoming visitors to the office and telephone support.
- Electronic filing and scanning to ensure client’s files are up to date.
- General ad hoc office duties as required.
Candidate requirements:
- Desire to develop a career in accountancy.
- Strong numerical, verbal and written communication skills.
- Studying AAT currently or would like to start training
- Driving licence held, or currently learning to drive.

Senior Accountant / Client Manager
We are looking for a dynamic and driven Senior accountant to join our growing team. The practice offers a friendly and supportive environment, where teamwork is at the forefront of how we operate.
The ideal candidate would be responsible for leading assignments and managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring at all times that the service provided is effective and maintaining good working relationships with clients and all of the team.
The position would offer a varied and interesting workload, from being involved in year-end accounts preparation and advising clients on potential opportunities, to completing audit assignments which will offer experience in technical areas of accounting and reporting.
Responsibilities will include:
- Role will be roughly 60% accounts / 40% audit
- Managing a varied client portfolio including small and medium limited companies, group structures and LLP/Partnerships
- Liaising with clients direct to respond to queries and manage work
- Year-end accounts preparation for Partner review
- Managing bookkeeping, management accounts and VAT Return assignments
- Corporation tax computation work
- Managing and conducting audits, including overseeing the assignment team
- Supporting Partners with other ad hoc projects
Candidate requirements:
- Qualified ACA / ACCA
- 3+ years audit experience
- Experience managing an audit, with knowledge of charities and academies being a plus
- Strong working knowledge of the main areas (statutory accounts, management accounts, VAT, corporation tax)
- Driving licence
